About Sams Life and Body Fitness
My name is Sam Leatherbarrow and I am the owner and trainer at SLB Fitness.
I’m a Mobile Personal Trainer who is passionate about inspiring change by helping others live healthier and happier lifestyles through exercise and nutrition.
I also work part time as a Personal Trainer at a local gym where I have my own clients and run several classes. Its great environment to be in and I work with people of all different ages and abilities.
In the past I’ve coached gymnastics, football and umpired in cricket. I was part of a “step into sports” organisation where we helped those with a variety of disabilities take part in physical activity. Very rewarding thing to be part of.
I served in the Military where I learnt a great deal about discipline, commitment and more importantly, how to care for myself and others. Being Ex Military, I take a no-nonsense approach. I’ll bring the kit; the client brings the commitment. Together we’ll achieve results through effective and enjoyable workouts that are created to suit the need of the individual and their fitness level.

With my knowledge and experience I can help you achieve your fitness goals whether they are sports specific or general fitness and well-being.
I’m flexible with time and travel and I offer a few different services that will help those who want to make a long-term, healthy lifestyle change.
I make it my business to do all that I can to help you accomplish your goals but it won’t always be easy. Sams Life and Body Fitness will provide the tools, knowledge and encouragement to set you up for life, not just for the summer, but it’s you that has to bring the commitment. My love for Health and Fitness started in high school. Here I watched some of my family and friends go through some of the struggles that you may have experienced too. With many fad diets going around and so much pressure to look a certain way, it drove them to exercise excessively and to form a range of eating disorders: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, Pica and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder.
I also grew up in a big family where some, past and present, chose a life of obesity, alcoholism and smoking, which then led to severe psoriasis, disordered eating habits, type 2 diabetes, strokes, heart diseases and early deaths.
At the time I was too young and inexperienced to help those who needed it but after 12 years of reading, learning, completing the qualifications I needed to help others, and some life experience, my mission is to help people avoid getting to that unhealthy stage. I’d like to educate people on the importance of regular exercise and healthy eating.
I will provide the tools, knowledge and encouragement to set you up for life, not just for the summer, but it’s you that has to bring the commitment. Together, we’ll create healthy habits, one change at a time.
